The Evolution Continues
It's been awhile since my last blog, I have been busy with family matters. But since the end of summer, I have been able to focus on painting once more. In September, I was able to take David Gallup's intensive color theory/brushwork workshops. We are so fortunate to have a such a great artist and teacher so close by and so willing to share his techniques and philosophies on creating exceptional work. One of the exercises was "tangling" color and developing color harmonies.

There was so much information and techniques that he demonstrated, it's taking awhile to process it all. And I won't bore you with details. We then applied our new skills to some of our previously done paintings to "Gallup-ize" as I call it. This previous plein air piece was rather flat and ordinary but I was able give it more life and movement.

Meanwhile, my friend Gina Marcione invited me to show my work at her business, Blue Table Wine and Cheese Bar. So the opening night was great fun. My artist friend, Mary-Gail King, helped me arrange the pieces on the wall and strongly suggested 2 go in the restroom. Yes, the lighting there is very good and it was amusing to show my guests the unique spot.

Next blog will be on my recent trip to the Eastern Sierras for a fall color plein air field trip.
