Koi no Bori

This piece was on of 4 that I had done for a plein air fest, in which the juror was my painting mentor.  He felt that every great painting has a shark in it and so I replaced one of the carp flags with a shark.  This piece was bought right before judging and I didn't have time to take a better image.  But it went to a new collector who is of japanese descent and was drawn to the carp flag as a reminder of his childhood in Oahu.
