Miyajima At Low Tide

Medium: Oil on Panel
Size: 12" x 9

On a family trip to Hiroshima, where my father lived when he was a toddler until after WW2, we visited Miyajima Island.  The torii or sacred gate is one of the most photographed landmarks in Japan.  When the tide is out, people walk onto the beach to dig for clams or take photos.  This was one of the highlights of our trip.
